Regenera Deiàs one-stop land management support service is now open

Regenera Deià’s one-stop land management support service is now open

Regeneration often begins with a simple question: where do I start?

Many landowners in Deià want to take better care of their land. They know the forest is too dense. They know old terraces are disappearing. They know fire risk is growing. They may want to recover olive groves, improve access, apply for funding, bring back grazing, or simply understand what can and cannot be done.

But between permits, technical criteria, funding calls, contractors, administrative procedures, and the complexity of land management in a protected landscape, the first step can feel overwhelming.

That is why Regenera Deià has created a one-stop land management support service: a practical point of contact for landowners who want to improve the ecological, productive, and fire-prevention role of their land.

Open every Tuesday and Thursday in Villa Rullan

The Regenera Deià office in Villa Rullan, on Deià’s high street, is now open to the public every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 14:00.

Residents and landowners can come by to ask for support, share concerns, explore possible interventions, or understand what funding and technical options may be available for their finca.

The service is free and designed to make land stewardship easier, clearer, and more coordinated.

More than 20 fincas visited in six months

Over the last six months, the Regenera Deià team has visited more than 20 fincas across the municipality.

Each visit is different. Some properties need urgent forest thinning to reduce wildfire risk. Others have abandoned olive groves or orchards that could be recovered. Some require help navigating administrative procedures. Others need support connecting with the right forestry teams, understanding funding opportunities, or designing a realistic land management plan.

What they all have in common is that they form part of a larger landscape.

In Deià, no finca is completely isolated. A forested plot affects the neighbouring plot. A blocked access path affects emergency response. An abandoned terrace affects erosion and water retention. A recovered olive grove can help reopen a mosaic landscape that benefits biodiversity, fire prevention, and local identity.

This is why Regenera Deià works finca by finca, but always with the whole territory in mind.

From advice to action

The one-stop support service helps landowners move from intention to implementation.

This includes basic land management guidance, support in identifying priority interventions, help navigating red tape, contact with technical experts and contractors, and assistance with funding applications.

So far, Regenera Deià has managed four funding applications, three of which have already been successful. These results show that many of the resources needed for better land management do exist, but accessing them requires time, coordination, and technical knowledge.

The purpose of the service is to make that process easier for landowners and more strategic for the municipality as a whole.

A shared responsibility

Deià’s landscape is beautiful, but it is also fragile. Decades of agricultural abandonment, increasing forest density, climate stress, and wildfire risk have created a situation that requires coordinated action.

Public administrations have a role to play. So do local companies, technical specialists, funders, residents, and civil society. But private landowners are essential. Over 92% of the Serra de Tramuntana is in private hands, which means that the future of the region depends on helping those landowners become active partners in regeneration.

Regenera’s one-stop support service is designed precisely for this: to remove obstacles, build trust, and help transform concern into practical action.

Get the support you need

If you own or manage land in Deià and would like support, Regenera Deià invites you to visit the Villa Rullan office.

Regenera is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 14:00.

You can also contact through the website: regeneradeia.com.

Whether you are thinking about forest management, olive grove recovery, grazing, access improvement, funding, permits, or simply want to understand what is possible on your land, the service is here to help.

Because caring for Deià’s landscape cannot depend on isolated efforts alone. It needs coordination, practical support, and a shared commitment to the future of the territory.
