Collecting kilos of plastic by the Cala, but gathering much more than debris.
Introduction
Do beach clean-ups matter? For Regenera Deià the answer is yes — because they are about purpose, presence and shared action. Before our official launch, we partnered with Save The Med for our first cleanup, and it reminded us why intentional community action matters.
The Story
On a crisp morning beside the cove, neighbors and volunteers gathered with gloves and bags, collecting plastic, waste and forgotten debris. Side by side with activists from Save The Med, we worked, talked, and learned together. The cleanup was followed by a forestry clearing demonstration and a brief workshop on recycling and waste reduction — a micro-lesson in connected environmental action.
Of course we know we won’t “save the planet” with a single cleanup. But the impact of showing up together, for shared purpose, is real. We carried kilos of plastic away — and carried back a sense of collective responsibility.
What It Tells Us
Community action — even small — reinforces care. Whether on a mountainside or a shoreline, showing up together matters.
