Restoring soil, restoring relationships, restoring rhythm. The garden becomes a living classroom.
Introduction
The Deià community garden is more than a patch of earth — it is a living emblem of what it means to tend land and relationships simultaneously. With support from the Lloyd-Webber family, Regenera Deià is relaunching this beloved space as a true communal asset.
The Story
Nestled in an idyllic corner of the village, the garden has long served as a quiet place for neighbours to grow food and reconnect with the rhythms of the land. Today, it stands on the brink of a renewal — a renewed invitation for collective stewardship.
Under Regenera Deià’s coordination, residents will be able to reclaim their own vegetable patch, share seasonal gatherings, host small presentations and demonstrations, and facilitate workshops about cultivation, soil health, native plants, composting and more. The garden will be a hub of learning, exchange, laughter and generational connection — a place where neighbours both new and old become collaborators.
Thanks to collective input and enthusiasm, the garden’s relaunch is shaping up to be one of the most tangible expressions of community-centric regeneration in Deià.
What It Tells Us
Regeneration is not only ecological: it is social. It is about people gathering around soil, seeds, seasons and shared stories. This garden, once dormant, is becoming a catalyst for community life.
